Thunder Bay Transit is continuing to roll out its new Lift Pass (a reloadable card).
The card can be tapped on the farebox to ride the bus.
Lift Passes allow passengers to purchase their transit fare online as well as in person.
Transit will no longer accept paper tickets as payment for using city buses starting at the end of the day on May 31.
The Transit Office at 570 Fort William Road is offering an exchange for paper tickets.
Passengers can bring in their unused paper tickets in exchange for a reloadable Lift Pass card.
Tickets must be in good condition to be exchanged.
There is a $5.00 fee to purchase a new reloadable Lift Pass card, but the city is waiving the fee until April 30.
Passengers can load a day pass, a 10-ride multipass, or a monthly pass.
Community organizations that distribute tickets to clients are asked to contact transit customer service by email at transit@thunderbay.ca to get information on the new processes in place, so single-use rides can still be distributed.
Cash fares will continue to be accepted on all buses.
