The number of wildfires in Northwestern Ontario continues to climb.
Five new fires were spotted by Wednesday evening, according to a news release from Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services.
In total, there are 65, with 10 out of control, two being held at their size, seven under control, and officials are observing 46.
The Red Lake 99 fire has significantly spread in the last few days.
It has now merged with Red Lake 72 and the combined fire area is more than 30,000 hectares.
Much of the region is still dealing with smoke from the prairies.
A large portion is under an air quality statement from just north of Dryden and west of Fort Hope.
Another pocket along the Manitoba border faces an air quality warning.
