A 23-year-old hockey player from Dryden has passed away due to cancer.
Evan Armit was a former player for both the Dryden Eagles High School team and the Kenora U18 AAA Thistles.
He also went on to play for the Winnipeg Freeze of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
He was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma.
At the time of his diagnosis, he was playing for the Worchester State University Lancers and pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
He died on Sunday.
