Police in Thunder Bay have discovered almost $400,000 in illegal drugs they believe were bound for First Nations across northwestern Ontario.
They say significant quantities of oxycodone and hydromorphone, along with 55-thousand dollars in cash, were seized after searching a home in the city’s east end.
The find was the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking to First Nations.
Police suspect Aroland was among the possible communities to receive the shipment.
Police estimate the street value of the seizure at $388,000.
A 67-year-old man is facing drug trafficking charges.
He has since been released and will return to court in November.
